the web moves on – again!

January 29, 2009

I went to an interesting seminar this morning on attracting more people to your web site and learnt  a huge amount. But things are moving so quickly, I feel like I ought to attend one of these presentations every week! We are doing more and more work on the digital front so it is good to keep abreast of things. I particularly like the stats that you can get to learn more about visitor activity on your site. If only I had time to go into them in real detail – suppose there’s always the weekend!

Here is the latest press release to churn out of the dairy…

Despite daily media reports of credit crunch doom and gloom nationally, Nottingham continues to enjoy a reputation as a thriving city – in no small part thanks to local marketing agency The Dairy!

No.1 Nottingham Science Park is the latest in a long line of high profile city organisations to turn to the Old Basford based agency for marketing expertise. The Dairy has recently unveiled the launch brochure, web site and other marketing collateral for the acclaimed business development, destined to bring science and technology investment to the city. Housed in a highly distinctive building adjacent to Nottingham University, the Science Park has won numerous awards for both design and sustainability and the creative work reflects that originality.

The agency is also set to unveil a high profile advertising and PR campaign to celebrate the 5th birthday of the NET Tram network.

The Dairy is no stranger to work for the public transport sector, also responsible for the colour coded Go2 bus fleet and a series of talked about campaigns for Nottingham City Transport. Most recent work has heralded the arrival of new greener buses, currently being introduced in the city area.

In 2008 The Dairy helped Nottingham City Council launch Citycard – a combined travel, leisure and retail discount card that has proved hugely successful among city residents, whilst the agency’s striking photography and design work has also helped raise the profile of Nottingham Rugby Club in its quest for premiership status. As well as launching the rugby club’s new website, The Dairy has raised eyebrows and heartrates by featuring the team semi naked in the 2009 ‘Uncovered’ calendar.

Explains MD Nigel Rowlson, “We position ourselves as the ‘open’ agency and I think clients really appreciate that transparent approach, especially when times are tight. We’re proud to be working with so many Nottingham names and they can be confident of getting cost-effective and creative solutions that make a real difference to their business, without any of the hot air perhaps associated with the marketing industry.

We are nothing if not versatile, happy to work with clients large or small, across pretty much every medium. We’re just looking forward to seeing more success for ourselves and the city in 2009.”

I attended an interesting lunch time talk last week covering the work place parking levy.

Barry Horne is the person in charge from Nottingham City Council and he gave a decent explanation of why the tax is needed and the effect it will have on congestion in the future. Effectively, the money raised will pay for the tram lines 2 and 3.

I think it makes sense – i have been using the tram recently to get to meetings in Nottingham – and it is a great and easy way to travel.

I say – pay the tax!

dairy PR is growing

January 5, 2009

The dairy has always offered PR as a service within the marketing communications package – but it seems this year will see a huge growth in this area. We have worked at various levels with clients on PR and event based projects over the years but we now have more and more requests from current and new clients. Agency MD Nigel Rowlson sees this as a positive step as clients want to have all their marketing needs sourced from one agency.
