Nottingham Contemporary
November 27, 2009
Normally if I had a meeting cancelled whilst I was on the way to it – I wouldn’t be happy.
However, today I turned it to my advantage! Being in the Lace Market on my way to the second meeting of the afternoon and hearing of the cancellation – I swiftly turned left and dropped into Nottingham’s’ new art gallery.
First impressions – good. And good to see so many people in there. It’s not huge – but big enough. Not bad though to kick off with a Hockney-fest!
I will try to be a regular visitor and see if they can keep up the excellent start.

The rise of Phoenix Square
November 25, 2009
The place was buzzing with excitement and had over 1000 visitors for its launch. The £21.5 million development – a collaboration between the public and private sectors, boasts brand new cinema screens with the latest digital technologies, cafe bar and 63 individually designed and sustainable new homes and workspaces. We particularly enjoyed watching film clips in 3-D, strolling through the cafe, lush apartments and viewing various art installations ranging from digital imaging by Professor Martin Reiser, performances from The Sancho Plan (see earlier Dairy blog) to a lovely Leicester scale model entirely in cardboard by Sally Renner. We think the mix of digital entertainment, cafe, workspaces and luxurious yet sustainable living will be quickly snapped up!
Welcome to Leicester!

Natalies’ work experience
November 16, 2009
Hi I’m Natalie, I’m currently studying a-levels in maths, media and photography and looking to go on to university to study creative advertising, maybe after an art foundation course.
With an interest in advertising and graphic design as a career path, i have been given this great opportunity to work along side the dairy team for the next few Mondays. By doing this work placement I am able to watch, learn and take part in the process of marketing communications. This has already helped me reinforce that my university course and the career path I wish to take afterwards is the right one for me. Todays my first day and I’ve had a fantastic time. Look out for more blogs over the next few weeks.
Natalie.
the dairy wins for Nottingham!
November 14, 2009
Nottinghams’ favourite design and marketing agency the dairy has been recognised at a national award ceremony for its work with client Nottingham City Transport.
The agency has worked with the bus company for a number of years and recently developed a marketing campaign for the re-launch of the West Bridgford service. The work covered a mailing campaign with local magazine and poster advertising. To attract the traditional company car drivers in the area, the strategy of mimicking a smart car launch campaign was developed.
The headline ‘ Introducing a vehicle so advanced you don’t even have to drive it’ was used alongside a teaser shot of a vehicle in darkness. The reveal showed the new bus in all its glory and tempted city workers to be driven to work.
Patronage increased well into double figures and the campaign was deemed a success. Clearly the UK Bus Awards judging panel agreed as the campaign won the award for attracting new customers at the ceremony on 12th November.
Dairy MD Nigel Rowlson was delighted to go to the event at the Hilton Park Lane with the client team and accept the award in front of 650 of the industry’s finest!
Well done to NCT – and to the team at the dairy……
Appealing Graffiti

Take a look at this mesmerising film of Graffiti from French designer Arnaud Jourdain. Created as a tribute to the late singer and actor Serge Gainsbourg, Jourdain shot thousands of photographs over five years of the layers of graffiti building up on the wall outside Serge Gainsbourg’s last home address on the Rue de Verneuil in Paris.
