Copenhagen – Nottingham

March 2, 2010

I attended a very interesting evening lecture last week at No.1 Nottingham Science Park hosted by Nottingham Science City and Blueprint Regeneration.

Jeremy leggett was the guest speaker and did he make an impact!?!?

Jeremy is one of Britain’s foremost commentators on energy use and an advocate of renewable energy. He is founder and chairman of Solar Century, currently the UK’s fastest growing private energy company. He has written a number of books including the ground breaking ‘The Carbon War’ (2000).

He attended Copenhagen and told the audience about the general feel of the event from one of anticipation to total dissappointment. What really struck him was the way the young people who had gone to peacefully protest, were violently dealt with by the authorities. He showed some graphic pictures which really seemed at odds with the agenda for the event.

With today’s news about easy loans to become available to home owners to invest in renewables – I think I should be contacting Jeremy to have my roof looked at…
