Building Brands in Challenging Times

That was the title of an interesting lecture I attended last night at the Nottingham Business School/Nottingham Trent University. John Farrell spoke well about the issues we as marketers need to consider post recession. His CV and experience reads like a list of the world’s great brands and he showed some fantastic examples of branding work he has been involved with such as ‘The Gorilla’ campaign for Cadbury and ‘The Haka’ commercial for Adidas.

He didn’t speak for long (I could have happily listened all night!) but what he said about ‘Positive Disruption’ – a new way for marketing departments to think about what they do, was fascinating.
