Celebrating SINGLES this Valentine’s day

Congratulations if you’re all loved up today. But if not, you may be a marketer’s dream. A recent article in Brandweek suggests we spare some love – and some marketing budget – for the singletons. Here are a few statistics you may find interesting…

• Don’t companies think that singles are going to need a vacuum?’ Not surprisingly whilst those married with children top the table for vacuum cleaner ownership, 83% of the unmarried and childless also hoover up!

• Research by a national tour operator suggests that solo travelers represent up to 40% of any given tour departure.

• Most singles are younger than 45 and ‘more receptive’ to advertising pitches. A quarter of them are baby boomers ‘a lucrative and receptive market to a wide variety of products’

It’s not too late to send a bouquet to someone who really matters!
