The dairy reading club!

January 24, 2012

This week at the dairy reading club we have been re-reading (and rather enjoying again) the 1970 advertising classic ‘From Those Wonderful Folks Who gave You Pearl Harbor’ by Jerry Della Famina. The title is based on a suggestion by a junior creative in a brainstorming meeting for their then client Panasonic! Sadly, the ad never ran! Copies of the book are still available om Amazon – http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_11?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=jerry+della+femina&sprefix=jerry+della%2Caps%2C252 it covers the crazy years of our trade in and around Madison Avenue and is widely claimed to be the inspiration for the TV series Mad Men….. unputdownable!
