Never Judge a Book by its Cover?

September 11, 2013

Here at the dairy we like to see ourselves as doing our best for the environment. So we were interested in a new initiative run by John Lewis, backed by the Dept of Energy and Climate Change. The idea is to trial a product-labelling scheme, in half of its stores, providing consumers with the lifetime electricity running costs of household white goods such as washing machines.

Energy Secretary Edward Davey says – “Until now. all washing machines looked pretty much the same. With this brand new idea, retailers are able to show a great deal more information about our household goods, and the difference this will make to our energy bills. This can only be a good thing for consumers.”

We heartily agree at the dairy and expect other retailers to follow where John Lewis are leading…..
