House hunters in Nottingham will be delighted to learn that plans are in place to expand the hugely successful Green Street in the Meadows sustainable housing development – the first of its kind in Nottingham.

The dairy have been busy developing a new look website to showcase the completed first phase and give prospective buyers a taste of the good things to come.

Delighted to attend the Nottingham Office Review launch this morning – and even better because the dairy has produced the marketing material!

Thanks to hosts Invest in Nottingham and Co-Star for providing a hearty breakfast. We heard about the state of the office market locally and the predictions for 2013. There seems to be some optimism around from the agents, whilst the city council are pushing hard on the Creative Quarter in the Lace Market… interesting times ahead!

office review!

Today marks the 150th anniversary of the first underground journey taken between Paddington and Farringdon on the Metropolitan Railway.

The occasion has been marked by US Internet giant Google with a homepage doodle.

google_2446812cThe concept of the doodle was born in 1998 when Google founders Larry and Sergey played with the logo to indicate their attendance at the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert. They placed a simple stick figure behind the 2nd “o” in the word, Google. the revised logo was intended as a comical message to Google users that the founders were “out of office.” Over time, the demand for doodles has increase, as to has their complexity.

Back in 2010 we shared this fantastic festive offering from Portuguese digital design outfit Excentric. It’s reassuring to see that even in the fickle world of technology and social media, the digital tools we were using are still relevant….

Hello from Marianne! :)

November 26, 2012

Hi there everyone 🙂
My name is Marianne and I’ve just started two weeks work experience at The Dairy. For the benefit of your imaginations, in case you’re wondering who this new girl is, I will tell you a bit about myself. I’m 19, a girl (I’d hope it’s obvious from my name, but just to be sure!) and I study English at the University of Nottingham. You should hopefully be able to see a picture of me here at the office giving The Dairy a big thumbs up (Y).
Now then, I should probably tell you a bit about what it’s like here at The Dairy and what I will be doing. It wasn’t the best start ever to be honest, bearing in mind I arrived for my first day about twenty minutes late, freaking out that I’d made a horrible first impression and would be in everyone’s bad books before I’d even started.  Even though I’m at uni now and haven’t been in school for nearly two years, I still expect to get in trouble for being late. So I was pleasantly surprised when, after a rather stressed explanation of the road-works and traffic that caused my lateness, Nigel didn’t tell me off. Success!
I’m delighted to say that I have been given my own desk space, which means I now officially feel like a working woman. I think though, since I’m only here for two weeks, I’ll hold off on filling my wardrobe with sharp power suits and briefcases! I have a list of jobs to do while I’m here, and they all seem pretty exciting to be honest. So far today I have been creating a facebook page, which is possibly one of the best things ever to do on work experience. Spend all day on facebook? Yes please!  I’m a little disappointed that the stereotypical work experience job of ‘make tea’ is nowhere to be seen on my list of jobs however, because I’m a girl who loves a nice, warm cup of tea – especially in this horrible weather! I am somewhat reassured though, because I have already enjoyed several cups of tea in the one and a half days that I’ve been here.
Everything is all very new and exciting at this stage, if a little overwhelming. Everybody seems really nice though, and luckily for me there aren’t too many names to remember! I’m hoping that, after my bad start, things go a lot more smoothly from now on. If I get the chance later on I will try to let you know, but for now that’s all from me!

Oscar Wilde Night

November 23, 2012

Thanks to Nicki and her team at The Galleries of Justice @GOJ_Museum for a splendid evening last night. Hosted by John Holmes from BBC Radio Nottingham with expert opinion from Paul Mann QC, Wilde’s grandson Merlin Holland gave some details of ‘The Unknown Oscar Wilde’. The highlight of the evening was a re-enactment of part of the famous Wilde trial of 1895. Mann acted as prosecutor with Holland as Wilde using transcripts from the case. As we were in the main court room at the GOJ – it all felt very real. Wilde clearly was a huge wit and his answers in court were as sharp as a blade….. the similarities to Stephen Fry are immense! November 12, 2012

So…. Hello!

I’m Siobhan (Not pronounced phonetically) and I have recently moved to Nottingham from Coventry for a bit of a change of scenery. The team at The Dairy have kindly let me join them for some work experience. I have my tasks to crack on with and thankfully ‘making the coffee’ is nowhere to be seen. I can’t stress enough, how poor my coffee making abilities are!

I was previously working at Cogent Elliott on the Jaguar account; maintaining and updating the website for all 26 countries. I really enjoyed this role as it was fast paced, I worked with a great team and I could see the future releases before anyone else.  I’m not a car person but my, do I love a shiny new Jag!

There was a very big team at Cogent, which was great but I’m very interested to see how an agency on a smaller scale operates. So far, no one has argued over the radio which is a nice change.

Hopefully, I can bring a little bit of something to the Dairy as a thank you for keeping me away from daytime TV and X factor reruns! #Rylanstyle.

Oh, and I have a cat called Mogwai who I love more than anything in the world.

Will post again soon… and hopefully I will have no coffee accidents to report on!

Siobhan x
